Do A "Mood Check" Every 2 Hours
A "Mood Check" For Yourself Once Every 2 Hours
According to Google, your "mood" is your emotional state of mind or how you are feeling at a particular time.
Emotions are actually an accurate reflection of a lot of things in your life, mind, body and spirit (they're all linked). As such... when we tell ourselves, "I'm in a mood" or more importantly, "I'm JUST in a mood," that's something which you might dismiss quite quickly, or inaccurately.
I urge you to take the time to sit with yourself and figure out what exactly it is that is causing that. Hint: Don't drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out if you cannot, as we ARE all made up of energy and energy is everywhere. That said, I could make a guess and say that your mood comes from either a person you were around, a memory or thought of the future, or something you've eaten. These are broad strokes and not necessarily enough to pinpoint what's going on, but they cover a lot of ground and you might just find the answer there.
Also, a technique I learnt in a side project in my first year of University back in 2008, from one of my mentors and uplines (I was learning about sales and marketing in a network marketing company at the time), Jaimes Tan, was to do a mood check, every 2 hours, to see how you’re feeling and if you’re “on path”.
"On path" here is a phrase I've used which covers multiple spectrums. It could mean anything from your business goals to your spiritual missions here on Earth. It could be a new habit you're trying to develop or a type of food you're trying to keep out of your mouth. This technique applies to all parts of life in all pursuits. Think about it. If you are not in balance yourself... how could your pursuits be?
Even as a parent, I use this when I get snappy with my daughter for example, and say something like "Shut Up!" or "Sorry that's not important so zip it." To me, I know that I mean no harm, and I just need the constant questions and noise to stop so I can actually proceed to do some work which takes care of our family financially. To a child however, that phrase or sentence can make their world come crashing down. As far as possible, neither my wife nor I behave that way, and strive to be the epitome of love.
Once in a while though, when I do find myself straying into a territory of being rude, I use a "mood check" to ask myself why I'm feeling what I'm feeling and to see if I can change it.
You may use it for any reason you wish, I hope it helps you. Set alarms in your phone if you need to, to get it done.
