This Langkawi Day 1 travel vlog captures the start of our family holiday in Langkawi, Malaysia — from arriving at the airport and picking up our Klook car rental, to driving through the island, checking into Berjaya Langkawi Resort, visiting the Langkawi SkyCab area, and ending the day with beach sunset views and a fire show by the shore.

Arriving in Langkawi and Picking Up Our Klook Car Rental

Our first day in Langkawi started at Langkawi International Airport, where we picked up our rental car after booking through Klook. Having the car ready near the airport made the start of the trip feel simple and flexible.

The drive from the airport already felt like part of the holiday. We passed open fields, mountain views, quiet roads, and little pockets of island life that immediately made Langkawi feel different from the pace of Singapore.

Scenic Drive to Berjaya Langkawi Resort

On the way to Berjaya Langkawi Resort, we stopped for fuel and passed a marina with yachts nearby. The drive took us closer to the mountains, including the area where the Langkawi SkyCab cable cars are located.

It was one of those peaceful arrival drives that slowly shifts your nervous system into holiday mode. Nothing dramatic, just roads, greenery, mountains, and that sense that you have finally left your regular life behind for a while.

Checking Into Berjaya Langkawi Resort

After arriving at Berjaya Langkawi Resort, we took the buggy through the resort to get to our room. The resort had a forest-meets-seaside feeling, with villas, greenery, monkeys, and views that made the place feel tucked away from the usual city noise.

We checked out the room, bathroom, amenities, and the view outside before getting ready to head out again. It was not a luxury-review style moment as much as a real family travel moment — bags, excitement, washing hands, checking the space, and slowly settling in.

Oriental Village and the Langkawi SkyCab Attempt

Later in the day, we drove to Oriental Village to try to visit the Langkawi SkyCab. By the time we got there, we realized we were too late to properly experience the SkyCab and SkyBridge.

Instead of rushing through it, we decided to save the SkyCab experience for another day and head back to the resort. That is part of real travel too — sometimes the plan changes, and you choose the better memory instead of forcing the schedule.

Beach Sunset and Family Time

Back at Berjaya Langkawi Resort, we changed into beachwear and headed to the beach. The evening brought ocean views, pool views, sunset light, and family time by the shore.

This part of the vlog is probably the emotional centre of the day. After 15 months without a family holiday, it felt good to finally be somewhere open, beautiful, and slow.

Fire Show by the Shore at Berjaya Langkawi Resort

The day ended with a nighttime fire show near the beach. It was one of those unexpected travel moments that makes the day feel complete — arrival, driving, resort check-in, a failed SkyCab attempt, beach time, sunset, and finally fire performers lighting up the night.
