In The Zephyr Show Episode 3, I sit down with journalist and author Sangeeta Waddhwani, whose career has included interviews with some of the biggest names in Bollywood and global culture — from Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to A.R. Rahman and Deepak Chopra.

But this conversation goes far beyond celebrity.

We explored spirituality, power women, patriarchy and creativity in India and reflected on the unusual chain of events that led us to meet in a café in Mumbai before recording this conversation.

Meeting Sangeeta Waddhwani in Mumbai

The meeting that led to this episode happened through a series of unexpected circumstances, including a last-minute intuitive change of lunch plans in Mumbai that led me to cross paths with Sangeeta. Prior to my trip to India, I had been visualising her face on the cover of her book, Encounters With The Rich & Famous, which I had seen in a bookstore on my last visit to India. Not on purpose, but the memory of it kept coming to me. Then we were guided to meet, no doubt by powers above. What followed was a spontaneous and deeply reflective conversation that quickly moved beyond surface-level stories of celebrity interviews.

Over the years, Sangeeta Waddhwani has interviewed some of the most iconic figures in Indian cinema and culture, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and many others.
